Q. Why are these better than normal ‘off the shelf’ cables?
A. We have specifically designed these with a seriously thick 22AWG Pure Copper Core Material, found in fast charger cables and laptop cables which have similar characteristics to what some major brands use. When combined with a stronger, rubberised strain relief and a foil shield with good insulation means that it can sustain fast charging of up to 5m (metres) with this superb quality cable. We know every single electrical characteristic about this design, having stripped and compared various similar type USB’s on the market and making it 1AWG better than today’s most recognised worldwide brand, but, at a lower price – simply because we are a family run business and do not have such significant overheads.
Standard aftermarket plastic black cables, braided, or flat/tangle free cables are generally only around 28AWG at best and can be purchased for very little and from any seller on eBay or Pound Shop! Do they work? Not for charging – or you may find them switch on/off repeatedly which can overheat your battery as they are not intended for charging, only data transfer. Charging is affected due to the loss of conductivity, also known as ‘voltage drop’. The thicker and purer the centre core, the less resistance there is.
